In the last two decades, glassine has grown in popularity as an alternative to paper bags for carrying personal items.
But this week, the British paper recyclers and packaging giant launched a new range of eco products called EcoGlassine bags.
They are made from a combination of recycled glass and eco-sourced material, including compostable straw, recycled paper and recycled water.
EcoGlassine is the brand name of a new line of eco paper bags, which will sell in eco-themed stores.
It will feature eco glass, eco laces and eco tape.
The eco paper is made from recycled paper, paper bags and recycled straw and is recyclable at an average of 30 per cent.
It is also recycled through a process called carbon fixation, which breaks down carbon dioxide into oxygen and carbon monoxide.
This means the eco paper also breaks down and helps to provide the oxygen needed to keep the planet green.
The EcoGlassines eco paper has a higher weight and density than traditional paper and has a more environmentally friendly carbon footprint, with a waste density of 8,000 tonnes per 100g of paper.
The new EcoGlassini products are the first of a range of new eco products that the company is launching for consumers, it said.
It said its eco paper products were the result of a year of research, feedback and analysis, including conversations with over 100 people who have used EcoGlassinae.
The company said the eco glass products would also have an impact on the environment.
“We know that more paper is not necessarily a good thing, especially when it comes to recycling, but that is not our intention,” said a spokeswoman for EcoGlassinnes, who asked not to be named.
“Eco paper is a product which has been designed to be used for its intended purpose, with the exception of the carbon fixation process.”
The new products are made of recycled paper bags.
These eco paper and eco lacing bags have a recycled straw, compostable paper and bio-diesel foam.
The carbon fixation is used to break down the CO2 in the paper, allowing it to be recycled into oxygen, a process that takes about 1,000 years.
The eco paper, which has a weight of 1,400g, has a waste rate of 8.2 tonnes per tonne, compared to the UK’s 6.3 tonnes per kilogram of paper, according to the British Paper Recycling Association.
“These eco paper eco lace eco tape eco glass bags will be the next eco product we want to introduce into the market,” the spokeswoman said.
The spokeswoman said the products would be made in partnership with companies like Tesco and Asda.
“Ecos are a big part of the world’s energy supply, and we need to support the eco industry to be successful,” she said.
The spokeswoman also said the EcoGlassins eco paper had been used to produce products like paper towels, paper towels made from straw and eco bags for the packaging industry.
The products will be available at eco-specific stores and online, including the new eco store, in the UK.
Other eco products from the company include eco lacerators, eco t-shirts, eco shoes and eco blankets.
